I turned 50 in May.  Not sure how this happened or where the first 50 years of my life have gone.

Turning 50 for me, really made me stop and think.  This year gave me the opportunity to reflect, lots of time to contemplate, a few aha moments.  Time to journal, and some big realizations. I had more time to be more mindful, I wasn’t on the clock, I could spend longer periods of time in meditation and I had the energy to recommit to my health.

The ability to just sit, drink my coffee instead of chugging it back while I drove to work.  What a gift to drink my coffee while it was hot.  I eased into my day, instead of feet hitting the floor and off  I went. I had the time to consider how I would like to Design/ architect my next 50 years. I think I have figured out what it is I actually want to do.  Practicing more yoga, reading, studying, diving deeper into the Chakra’s ( something that has always intrigued me)  The study of eastern medicine and the honoring of rhythms and seasons.  It really isn’t all work and no play, me teaching people to Pause, is just as much for me as it is for them.

Satya in sanskrit is the study of self, what it is that we need to thrive, how we nourish our bodies, minds and souls.  When we can tune out the chatter and noise of the outside world.  We are able to tune into our own innate wisdom and knowledge.  How often do all of us look outside ourselves for the answer, to what we truly already know.   Less “doing” is how I truly want to exist, the more I push myself the less I honor what it is that I truly need and value.  What are your Core Values?  How do you want to Live?

My first 50 years on this planet have very much been about people pleasing, being a caregiver, and nurturing others.  This role has been wonderfully fulfilling in many ways, but along the way I got lost. My will, my confidence, my sense of self was and has been non existent.  As has been my energy, apparently I wasn’t suffering from hypothyrodism, low iron or chronic fatigue.  I was burnt out, my inner light was snuffed out. Lacking the oxygen it needed to Shine.  So after this forced shut down, this Pandemic Pause I have established new ways of being, created new rituals and routines in my day to day that honor rest, movement, activity.  As in nature there is time to lay dormite, a time to grow, a time to harvest.  So too must we acknowledge these cycles, as women, mothers, daughters.  We need to prioritize time and space to figure out what it is that lights us up. Shine your light, love who you are, you matter.

Know that you are doing a great job, you're beautiful & you are loved.

As we head into a new year, we tend to make resolutions for the upcoming year. What we may or may not realize is that to see changes in ourselves we must be prepared to let go of a piece of who we were and replace it with someone new.

Resolutions should not be made willy-nilly. These changes can be massive and world shifting or small and simple but either way, to evolve a habit the person must evolve as well. Check out this handy PDF to really find out what is important to you, the true first step in creating a long lasting resolution.

How would you like to Evolve in 2021?

I have started reviewing what worked for me in 2020 and what didn’t. In my professional and home life, I have started to make time to reflect. Reviewing what went well and what needs to be left behind.

As we move through our days, weeks, and year it is very easy to just go through the motions, check off the “to do’s” and move through life as if on autopilot.  Do you ever catch yourself thinking or saying "someday" or "one day"?

I have decided that someday is now. In light of what is going on in the world, we can’t put things on hold. We can't keep shoving aside our dreams and desires.

So have you truly considered what the next chapter looks like for you? Is it time that you made yourself a priority? Is it time for you to take the step, in creating more vitality, vibrancy, love and joy in your life?

Maybe you have reached the point in your life where you have a little more time to look after you or maybe you are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.

Making yourself a priority maybe new to you and you're needing some accountability to evolve your habits. This is not another to do list, it is all about making small consistent 1% changes. 1 degree shifts.  In the past we have set New Year's Resolutions and most of the time these goals go well for the first little bit and then we fall off the wagon and the guilt and shame set in.  What I am proposing is that we approach our new habits like an experiment, approach your challenges with the curiosity of "let's see how this works". Finding out what fits just right, a little like Goldilocks.

I would like to help you create a new chapter of Self Awareness & Self Compassion so that you can Thrive.

Adapting Rituals (routines) into your everyday life.  Taking small daily action steps to Evolve how you nourish your body, mind and soul.

From Jen Sincero’s book You are a Badass Everyday:

“Please do not waste your one and only chance to be the you that is you on planet EARTH, screwing around with the excuses when you have the power to create whatever you desire”

Every year, September brings an opportunity for a fresh start. If there was ever a year that needed a do-over before January it's 2020. Kids returning to school or a homeschooling routine begins. Most places have fallen into a "new normal".
With these changes around us, it is a great time to talk about our intentions. As much as we may try to fight it, where our attention goes, our energy flows. What this means for all of us is it is a time to take a look at our mindset and decide what we want to do with this fresh start.
If you decide in your mind that 2020 is a write-off, you have decided to make the next 4 months not count, before they have even began. If you decide to take this new fresh start, with a new fresh attitude, you can make these next 4 months the best of your whole life.
There are no expectations for the rest of the year so make it your own and take the time to explore what a "new normal" looks like for you because I think it can look pretty darn good if we want it to.
